Class this week: Last week, we finished up our study of cell division with an open-note quiz. We are starting our unit on heredity and genetics. Don't be surprised if your student comes home and asks to see if you can roll your tongue and what shaped earlobes you have! Ask them how a person can be a carrier for a genetic disorder or trait, yet NOT have the trait! Students have their new vocabulary sheet for heredity and we will have the vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
Note: Tuesday, 3/26, is the END OF Q3. Grades will be finalized in PowerSchool on Monday, 4/1, in the afternoon. We are combining 2 sections from each chapter to make one unit on heredity and genetics. Class this week: Our cell division vocabulary quiz was this past Friday. This week we will look at the process of meiosis and compare it to the genetic outcome of mitosis. We will also see onion cells in various stages of mitosis under the microscope! I could still use hand soap and tissues. Thank you so much for the donations that have recently come in.

Class this week: I am desperate for TISSUES!!! I can also use hand soap. I appreciate any donations you can send in. We finished up our Cell unit with a test last Wednesday. Students have until Friday, 3/1, to finish retaking it at home or school if they did not score 26/37 or higher. We are now starting our Cell Cycle and Cell Division unit. Students already have their new vocabulary sheets. We will get to use the microscopes one more time to see phases of mitosis on onion cells during this unit!
